Introduction to interior design
Entry requirement:
No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm
What you will need for your first session:
No equipment required – just a pen and paper for any notes.
Overall course aims and objectives:
To introduce the student to the basic principles of interior design
On this course you will develop the following skills:
- Room and space planning
- Furniture layouts
- The power of colour
- Importance of creative lighting
- Window treatments (theory)
Assessment – (homework, on line tests, and/or exams):
Informal, continual assessment through question and answer and projects completed

After completing this first introductory course, students could possibly continue on to further introductory courses in Interior Design or join a Level 1 City & Guild course in Interior Design or related subjects
