French a/s level

You will learn to speak and write competently and be able to discuss topics of interest.  You will also increase your knowledge of France.

Examination costs are included in the published course fees.

Learner & Entry Requirements: 

You must have reached GSCE or equivalent level.

General & First Session: 

If you have the book "AU POINT" by Nelson, please bring it, but do not purchase it specifically for the course until after the first class.  KAE is unable to offer refunds for any materials, equipment or books if the course is subsequently closed.

Course Aim & Objective: 

To prepare you for the AS-Level examination and to familiarize you with the grammar and prescribed topics and text on the exam syllabus.  To improve and further develop your understanding of the French language and work on the four main skills (writing, speaking, listening and reading).

You should:

be familiar with the exam syllabus; learn to speak and write competently; and be able to discuss topics of interest.  You will increase your knowledge of the French society, culture, history, literature, arts and ways of life and cover current social and political issues.  You will be able to speak and write competently and should be able to discuss topics of interest.

Assessment: 

EDEXCEL past exam papers.  On-going assessment in class and at home (homework).

Progression: 

You should be able to enrol in the French A2 class (first year) next year to prepare for their A-Level (in two years).
