list of equipment is given at the first lesson.

Course Aim & Objective:
To introduce you to the basics of domestic Interior Design by
completing design schemes for two rooms.
You should gain a good introduction to domestic Interior Design. The course has been designed so that you can sample the basic skills required to develop an understanding of colour, texture and pattern on walls, flooring and furniture, sketchbook work and how to present a colour board. Drawing skills are taught to enable an understanding of the positioning of furniture, lighting and services which should result in a portfolio containing full design schemes for two rooms.
Assessment:
Observation, Question & Answer sessions, practical work,
written work, homework and project work. Logbook to be completed by
all.
Progression:
Further projects and techniques not previously covered in the first
course. Certificate in Interior Design – level 2
Course Syllabus:Interior Design – Planning a room.
You should produce a portfolio for assessment containing: schemes for two rooms and a folder of essential notes, including Health and Safety advice relevant to the subject. A scheme consists of a simple plan, wall elevations and a colour/story board.
The rooms are chosen from either:
- a living room or bedroom, or
- a kitchen or bathroom.
