Description

This Level 3 class is a progression from the Level 2 course, or for the advanced user who has a good knowledge of IT or particular software. Build on your intermediate skills - this class helps you understand basic database theory.

Learner & Entry Requirements:Good knowledge of Access. Windows competence - keyboard and mouse skills required. Knowledge of creating database tables, ability to create Queries/Forms/Reports (e.g. completion of Access Beginners and Intermediate Courses).

General & First Session:Pleae bring pen, paper and a folder to contain work, exercises and handouts. KAE is unable to offer refunds for any equipment, materials or books if the class is subsequently closed.

Course Aim & Objective: Enable you to:

  • Appreciate concepts for creating manageable and productive databases
  • Set up relational databases
  • Use Queries to extract information; c
  • Create more complex Forms and Reports
  • Understand principles of creating successful databases
  • Appreciate the purpose and function of Primary Keys
  • Apply and utilise Primary Keys to form the basis for forming relationships
  • Define/apply/edit and remove relationships between tables
  • Create Forms and Reports using data from related Tables and Queries

Assessment:A number of guided exercises to be completed during the class. Consolidation exercises to assess understanding. Discussion, Question & Answer sessions and feedback are used to assess the level of learning.
