Our British Horse Society Stage 2 stable management training programme is an excellent progression from the Stage 1 course. It will give you a thorough understanding of general management and requirements of horses' health and well being. - Working to improve balance and security
- Ride school figures using the correct aids
- Ride safely in company
- Ride independently in walk, trot and canter, with and without stirrups
- Jumping position
- Jump a course of fences
Stable Management:
- Horse behaviour
- Stable design
- Watering and feeding
- Shoeing
- Grooming
- Clipping
- Saddlery
- Anatomy and physiology
- Horse health
- Lungeing
There is an opportunity to take a mock and/or BHS Stage 2 exam. Entry to BHS exams should be directly to the British Horse Society via www.bhs.org.uk
Entry Requirements
Enthusiasm and willing to learn new skills. For riding - completion of the BHS Stage 1 riding. Weight limit for riding is 13.5 stones.
