Description

The Advanced Spreadsheet course is designed for learners who have already obtained the ECDL Extras qualification or another level 2 course in spreadsheets. It may also be suitable for those learners who do not have a qualification in spreadsheets, but work with them extensively in their day to day work.

Qualification

BCS Level 3 Module - Spreadsheet Software

This unit carries 6 credits towards a higher qualification and when completed with the other three ECDL Advanced units will enable the student to apply for ECDL Expert status.

The course consists of advanced formulae, extended formatting options, charts and using financial functions.

Subtotals; Auditing Tools; Conditional formatting

More complex formatting; Scenarios; One & Two input tables

Financial PMT, FV & Goal Seek; Pivot Tables & Graphs; Protect cells & worksheets

Macros; Charts; IF, IFAND; Hyperlinking

Compare & Merge; Validation Rules

Although homework is not set, it is expected that learners will practise the spreadsheet functions between classes. There is a one hour British Computer Society exam at the end of the course.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should have at least two units of prior success at level 2 to be able to gain a full Level 3 qualification.
