PURPOSEFor graduates in engineering, computing or a related
scientific discipline, with a good knowledge of computer
programming and mathematics, from this programme you will gain
specialist training in designing, building and evaluating
intelligent systems using a range of tools and techniques in
preparation for a career in research or industry.
DESCRIPTION
Engineering systems and devices of all kinds are increasingly required to behave in more intelligent ways. Intelligent control systems are thus increasingly required by industry. Furthermore, engineers and scientists are increasingly looking to nature for intelligent solutions to complex problems. There is a growth in interest in intelligent methods for solving a huge range of problems across many disciplines.
This programme is built around taught core modules such as
Artificial Intelligence, Agents and Multi-agent Systems, Pattern
Recognition, Computer Vision and Biologically Inspired Methods,
which are complemented by a wide range of optional modules. The
final part of the programme is an individual project which is
closely linked with the Department's research activities.
