C&G Beginners Web Design
This course is designed to equip students with the basic skills and
knowledge to be able to learn to manipulate text and styles using a
web development application package such as Expression Web.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
Describe features of a web page and web page development.
Use application tools to create style features for text, images,
and pages, including simple tables and hyperlinks.
Use graphics software to create and manipulate images for web
pages.
An application package such as Microsoft Expression Web will be
used in this course, students are not required to have prior
knowledge of this program or to own it. Graphics software may be
used as part of a web page. Relevant basic manipulation will not
cover topics such as removing unwanted objects from
photographs.
C&G Intermediate to Advanced Web Design
This course is designed to equip students with the skills and
knowledge to be able to create and maintain simple web sites,
involving user interaction. Students should have completed the
beginners' course, or have equivalent skills.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
Develop a variety of skills that are needed to build web-sites,
including communication between a web-user and the web site.
Build an internet-based database and allow website users to access
it, making queries, and editing or changing data.
Review database design techniques, analyse user requirements.
Develop and implement test plans for publishing a web site.
Have an opportunity to gain qualifications for web-production.
Be prepared for study for CIW foundation level.
