There are three levels to the course, each corresponding to a
year of a full-time honours degree course.
Level 4
A firm foundation in computing is provided with a range of core
topics such as Programming, Computer
Systems, Web-Based Technologies and Data Analysis. Supporting
topics such as Multimedia Authoring, and Investigation and Research
help broaden the base of this exciting programme of study.
Level 5
Your theoretical knowledge is developed and applied to real-world
problems. The core themes are
continued and supplemented by Database Principals and Practice,
Systems Development, and Networks.
Additional sessions are designed to prepare students for a
work-based environment.
Work placement: A six-week period of work placement in an IT based

computing, management and project development theories into
practice, whilst further developing your technical skills.
Level 6
You are ready to extend and complement your study of the core
themes with optional topics that include
Managing a Web-Based Environment, Advanced Systems Analysis, and
Network Infrastructure and

project, investigating a particular aspect of the programme and
applying it to a specific situation. For this, you will have access
to individual guidance from a personal supervisor who will help you
to ensure that the project 'stays on track' and achieves its
aims.
