that relate to Conservatoire-level one-to-one teaching. The module
will be delivered in a workshop setting with opportunities for
feedback on participants' own part in the processes. This two-day
intensive workshop will involve small group-work, tutor input,

their own experiences as learners and teachers and to locate these
experiences within the framework of key themes and perspectives
that are relevant to third-level one-to-one instrumental, vocal and
composition teaching. The sessions will involve some practical
work, including role play and observation and evaluation of
video-taped examples of one-to-one music lessons. Opportunities for
feedback from colleagues and tutors will be provided.
Assessment will be by means of video documentation of the
participant's own one-to-one practice. This will be accompanied by
a 3000 assignment that includes a critical, reflective
commentary.
This module may be taken as a short course.
