Masters Level Module

This module introduces to citizenship and history education a specific body of practice and learning theory. It engages with a powerful range of resources, including physical learning environments, online and printed resources, oral histories and visual archives. There is now considerable evidence that these make a significant contribution to the motivation and learning of students and teachers. The use of these resources opens up the curriculum and can provide a rich learning experience, in which participants have greater involvement and control over the nature and content of their learning than in formal educational settings. Museums, galleries and heritage organisations have made citizenship and history education a new priority in recent years. This module builds on this period of innovation and looks across the world for relevant resources and stimuli.
