Henshall Centre

Henshall Centre courses are intensely practical. Numbers are kept low. Specially written case studies or group exercises reinforce all the main points. PR is a vocational subject, so delegates are encouraged to enter into debate both with the tutor and with one another.

Particular attention is paid to delegates' ability to apply what is taught in unfamiliar situations. This helps them to integrate their new skills into their own environment in the shortest amount of time after the course ends.

Each delegate takes away a reference manual, in which they will have added their own aides memoire notes. This manual is not a textbook. It does not stand on its own. Delegates need to have attended the course to get value from it. We do not approve of the practice of selling course notes or copies of the slides.

Our tutors all go through our own teacher training programme. Except where we find an exceptional individual, we tend not to use full-time trainers. We prefer to use current PR practitioners who can talk about what they will be doing tomorrow, rather than former practitioners who can only say what they did some years ago. For this reason, even though we are CIPR Approved Training Providers, we tend not to use CIPR trained trainers. We prefer our own teacher training programme.
