- Cleaning, decontamination and waste management
- Transportation
- Supporting therapy sessions
- Patient care
- Administration
- Record keeping
- Food preparation and service
- Minimising the risks of spreading infection
- Understanding mental health problems
- Obtaining and testing blood samples
- Emergency first aid skills.

City & Guilds Diplomas in Healthcare Support are recognised by the NHS, Europe’s largest employer.
They are based on the latest National Occupational Standards for Health.
This course is no concessions, and requires an interview.
What do I need to get on this course?
These qualifications are aimed at anyone aged 16 or over, and working in a healthcare setting in a paid or voluntary capacity.
Candidates will need to have a satisfactory CRB check, and complete the college assessment process.
How will I be assessed?
Workplace assessment is a requirement of the course. Direct observation is carried out by the assessor.
The candidate will also provide reflective accounts of their own performance, and possibly obtain witness testimony from a supervisor/class teacher.
Where does it lead?
Successful completion of this course leads to the Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support.
