What does the course include?
The IELTS course at Greenwich Community College prepares learners for the IELTS test and provides training in academic language skills.
IELTS is an international standardised test of English proficiency. It is intended for those who want to enrol in universities within 2 years and for professionals such as nurses or doctors who want to study or practice in the UK. The IELTS exam tests the four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Most universities require an IELTS score of 5.5 -7 as an entry requirement.

What do I need to get on this course?
Applicants need to be working at a minimum of Level 1.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a member of the ESOL team to secure a place on the course.
IELTS is assessed by 100% examination:
Listening 30 minutes
Reading 60 minutes
Writing 60 minutes
Speaking 11-14 minutes

IELTS is an English language entry requirement for universities in the UK and it is also recognised a large number of professional organisations and government agencies.
