What does the course include?

The course consists of 18 units, completed over the 2 years and covers subject areas such as:
- Equality, Diversity & Rights in Health & Social Care
- Counselling Skills
- Research methodology
- Applied Sociology
- Vocational Practice
- Anatomy & Physiology
Work placements are a major part of this course and students will be required to attend two days each week throughout the duration of the course.

What do I need to get on this course?
At least 5 GCSE’s at grade A*-C including Maths, English and Science. You must also have satisfactory references and a valid CRB.
How will I be assessed?
A variety of assessments are used including written work, timed assessments, presentations, group work, independent research work and projects.
Where does it lead?
This is a 2 year course. Successful progression to year 2 is reliant on learners attaining at least 85% attendance and meeting all academic targets within the first year.
Successful completion of this course can lead to Higher Education.
There is a 9% increase in childcare related jobs forecast in Greenwich between 2012 and 2017.
