This 6 evening course is designed for individuals or employers who want to reduce car repairs costs and unexpected bills.

The learner will learn basic car maintenance skills, as well as tip and techniques used by professional mechanics in a fun and enjoyable way.

This course allows you to reduce your car costs by carrying out repairs yourself, as well as learning how to carry out an MOT pre-checks.

For the employer, it will provide your staff will a further understanding and gain a further insight of car maintenance.

This course requires no interview and you can pay directly.

What do I need to get on this course?

You do not need specific qualifications to embark on this course. However, a keen interest in the care and repair of your car and willingness to save money is a good starting point.You will need overalls and boots, or, if you cannot provide these, old clothes and sturdy shoes.

How will I be assessed?

  • Visually through observation each evenings
  • Practically through effective repairs and checks

Where does it lead?

Upon completion of this course, you will then be able to progress to our Basic Car Maintenance Plus course.
You will also be able to inspect and perform basic re-pairs and maintenance on motor vehicle units and components; you’ll gain skills in preventive maintenance, and find out just what you need to do to keep your car in roadworthy condition.
