What does the course include?
AAT Award is a Level 1 Award in Accounting. The course is designed to help you gain the skills and confidence to build a career in accountancy. It is also ideal progression course if English is not your first language and you are looking to pursue a career in Accountancy.
The qualification is made up of four skills and knowledge units:
- Mathematics for accounting (1 credit)
- Accounting in a professional environment (1 credit)
- Essential accounting procedures (3 credits)
- Creating business documents (3 credits)

What do I need to get on this course?
You will need to have a level 1 in literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills and a good standard of written English.
How will I be assessed?
You will have your skills and knowledge tested using a computer based assessment (CBA).
Where does it lead?
On successful completion of the Level 1 programme, you may be able to progress onto the AAT Certificate in Accounting Level 2.
An 11% increase in chartered and certified accountant jobs are
forecast in Greenwich between 2012 and 2017.
