The course is designed for you if you want a job caring for others as it will prepare you to work in a caring profession. Subjects studied include:
- Anatomy & physiology
- Communication skills
- Creative & therapeutic activities
- Diet & nutrition
- Individual needs
- Vocational practice You will also be required to attend a work placement for a set number of hours each week. Additional studies include:
- Basic First Aid
- Drug Awareness
- Food Hygiene You may be required to continue to study English, maths or IT as part of your course.

Progression
Successful completion of this course will give you the opportunity to gain employment in a variety of Care settings, or progress on to a Level 3 programme if achieving a Merit/Distinction profile (along with English GCSE Grade C or equivalent).

All of the Caring & Early Years Education courses are subject to Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks for which an additional charge is payable.
Entry Requirements
2 GCSEs (Grade D or above), or equivalent e.g. Level 1 appropriate qualification with Merit/Distinction profile.
