Course Content
BA (Hons) Youth and Community Work
This course will provide you with an in-depth knowledge of youth and community work, including the establishment of core skills and values, the development and delivery of informal education opportunities and exploring policy and management processes in service delivery.
With an emphasis on anti oppressive practise and the development of critically reflective practitioners our undergraduate course ensures a progressive curriculum is supported by dedicated tutors and a new virtual learning environment Moodle.

Career Opportunities
Many graduates of these courses have careers within local authorities, voluntary and community organisations or education providers. Across England and Wales, the youth and community profession has become all graduate in response to employers’ needs to have a highly educated workforce.
Types of work that graduates undertake include youth work, community development, children’s rights, outdoor education, drug and alcohol education, sex and relationships education, community arts and media, supported housing, youth justice, mentoring and guidance, LGBTQ work, disability work, and BME work.
Entry Requirements & Applying 240 UCAS tariff points at GCE A level or equivalent. Appropriate AS-Level and Level 3 Key Skills qualifications will also be taken into account. Previous experience of youth and community work rather than academic qualifications can be taken into account. Entry to this honours degree is through UCAS for full-time students and by direct application to the university for part-time students. All All applicants considered suitable are interviewed with those with disabilities or from relevant access courses or Level 3 youth work courses automatically offered an interview.
