About This Course

As an electrician you need to know the legal regulations on wiring and installations. Gloucestershire College in response has devised a course specifically dealing with the Seventeenth Edition Wiring Regulations. About This Course

As an electrician you need to know the legal regulations on wiring and installations. Gloucestershire College in response has devised a course specifically dealing with the Seventeenth Edition Wiring Regulations. On the short course you will learn about the format, content and applications of the requirement for Electrical Installations BS 7671 (June 2008). Other topics covered include the plan and style of the regulations, protection against thermal effects, over current and electrical shock, selection and erection of equipment, isolation and switching, inspection, testing and certification. By the end of the course you will be adequately skilled to meet the standards of the IEE wiring regulations. At the end of the course you will be required to take an on-line, multiple choice, two hour exam set by the Awarding Body.

Entry Criteria

The course is aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience but you will also need to attend an interview with the course leader.
