The dates are set by the awarding body and cannot be changed. Candidates may be required to take external assessments in the daytime. - Full treatment practised on class peers prior to client sessions

INDUSTRY INFORMATION Hours Your working hours would depend on how many clients you have, particularly if you are self-employed. You may start by working part-time until you have built a solid reputation and client base. You may need to work some evenings and weekends to accommodate your clients. You could work in a variety of settings, from hospices and hospitals to clients’ homes and complementary or holistic medicine clinics. You could also work in a beauty salon or health farm. You may travel around, seeing clients in a number of settings. Income Reflexologists may earn around £15,000 to £20,000 a year, depending on the number of clients and the location. Practitioners with established practices may earn around £30,000 a year. Self-employed reflexologists charge a sessional rate, which usually varies from £25 to £60 for a 45 to 60 minute session. Business costs such as rent and materials come out of these fees. Figures are intended as a guideline only. There are 51,500 people working in the health and fitness industry. •There are over 3,100 private fitness facilities within the UK with 4,397,200 members. •There are just under 2,600 public health and fitness facilities, which have over 2,758,400 members. •38% of the workforce is employed full-time, 42% part-time and 20% self-employed. •Around 29% of the health and fitness workforce is aged 16-24 years (compared with 14% across all industries in the UK) South West – There are 53,700 people employed in the active leisure, learning and well-being sector, of which 4,100 are employed in the health and fitness industry. The region offers a range of opportunities for surfing, sailing, surf lifesaving, Tarka Trail, Camel Trail and coastal paths. Industry skills gaps in the region include: sport specific technical skills; communication; management; team-working; planning and preparing work; initiative; project management; and problem solving.
Entry Criteria* Candidates should have an interest in Holistic therapies and have a strong pursuit of knowledge in this area * Caring nature, mature attitude, committed, self-motivated, impeccable appearance and sound educational background * All candidates must receive treatment as part of training prior to working on clients - A previous qualification in anatomy and physiology and a massage technique is advantageous but not essential. - GCSE Grade A-C in English Language
