Italian for Holidays

If you've booked your holiday, now's the time to learn some basic language skills so you can get the most out of meeting and understanding people as you travel. There's every chance they'll understand you too. This course is suitable for complete beginners or those with only a smattering of the language. No previous knowledge of the language is required. The course will concentrate on travel related situations, for example hotels, restaurants, shops, transport With lots of opportunities to practise with likeminded students, the sessions are expected to be lively and fun. By the end of the course students should have the confidence to get by in simple everyday situations such as booking accommodation, ordering food in a restaurant and shopping. This course does not have a qualification attached so students are not required to keep a portfolio. However, in order to progress to higher levels, it is recommended that students keep all their work organised for future reference. Students are encouraged to work on their language learning at home between lessons.

Please bring an A4 ringbinder, paper and pen to the first class. The tutor will advise at the first class which books and/or resources are recommended for the course.

No formal qualifications are required for entry to the course. All that is needed is an enthusiasm for learning the language and a willingness to communicate with the other members of the class, in the target language of course!

The tutor will provide individual information, advice and guidance on possible progression routes. Some students may want to progress to the next level in the college.
