The Brickwork Day Release Level 2 course will help you build a solid foundation in the brickwork trade. Gloucestershire College's experienced lecturers, who have all been builders in the past, will show you how to store materials, set out and organise your building areas as well as help you to build cavity walls, a solid brickwall and arches. You will be assessed on your practical skills, as well as your knowledge and understanding, both in College and at work. Brickwork is not just all about your skills in handling bricks, but as part of this course you will also be undertaking additional skills that employers feel are vital to the profession. These additional qualifications in communication skills will be delivered on your day in College and form part of the training framework.
Additional NotesYou will need to wear suitable protective clothing and steel toe-capped boots or shoes.
Entry CriteriaTo get a place on the programme, you need to be working in a bricklaying role on a construction site,
Progression DetailsAfter completing the two-year course, you can progress to the advanced programme where your skills and knowledge will be raised to Level 3 standard. Success on the advanced programme could mean that you progress to a site foreman.
