The process of coming online and being an active host are described in detail, including a detailed overview of the cable modem IPv6 boot process. An overview of routing, migration and deployment are also part of this course.

PART 1: INTRODUCTION
- The goals of IPv6, header format, basic concepts, addresses.
PART 2: COMING ONLINE AS IPv6 HOST
- How to obtain an address, address resolution, different addresses and their goals. Special attention is paid to the boot process of a cable modem including specific DHCPv6 options.
PART 3: BEING AN ACTIVE IPv6 HOST
- Neighbour discovery, changes for UDP and TCP over IPv6.
PART 4: BEING AN ACTIVE IPv6 ROUTER
- Routers and IPv6 routing protocols.
PART 5: COEXISTENCE
- How to migrate from IPv4 to IPv6 and have the two protocols in coexistence.
