Energy and the environment are increasingly taking their place as a major issue in today’s world. With this qualification, you will build on your current credentials in the field, or take the first step into this vital industry.

With a wide range of applications - from signal processing and digital circuit design to power distribution and electrical drive systems - electronic and electrical engineering offers a number of specialist career options. Add this postgraduate degree to your toolkit, and you'll have the qualification and practical experience you need to make the most of these opportunities. You'll add to your existing engineering skills and develop advanced knowledge and technical abilities in digital design, embedded systems, motor drives and more. You'll also carry out practical tasks that will equip you with the experience you need to hit the ground running in any new role. This advanced degree also gives you the management and strategic thinking skills you need to successfully compete in the workplace at a specialist level. You'll graduate with a well-rounded package of experience and abilities that will show prospective employers that you're switched on and ready for action. The skill-set you gain from this advanced course reflects the needs of industry employers. You'll study a blend of engineering subjects designed to maximise your confidence and employability. You'll learn to utilise industry standard software and hardware tools to implement digital designs, design and develop embedded systems to predetermined specifications, and critically analyse and understand the operation and control of motor drives in a range of applications. In addition, you'll learn to evaluate the specifications of generators, optimisation of distributed networks and their control options. By completing an advanced research and design project, you'll also have the opportunity to apply your learning in a practical setting and critically analyse your progress. Of course, employers expect more from senior employees than purely technical abilities. To take your skills to the level required for higher level positions, you'll also learn advanced communication and management skills.
