What's involved Based over four years, the course will involve lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions and independent study. Year 1 Construction Engineering, Engineering Principles (Civil), Foundation Mathematics, Construction Surveying, Civil Engineering Materials, Option Year 2 Fluid Mechanics, Structural Analysis and Design, Intermediate Mathematics, Soil Mechanics, Timber Properties and Construction, Option Year 3 Water Engineering, Applied Structural Design 1, Integrating Design Project, Construction Engineering and Management, choice of: English as a Foreign Language, Digital Mapping & GIS, Methods of Construction, plus choice of: Advanced Land Surveying, Traffic Engineering and Structural Timber Design 1 Year 4 Honours Project, Ground Engineering, Applied Structural Design 2, Environmental Hydraulics, Construction Law and Contracts Students of this course are eligible for the Best Timber-related dissertation prize and the Properties and Structural Use of Timber prize.
