You will have the opportunity to critically appraise relevant health and social policy, and to address ethical and professional issues. Through these processes, you will be better equipped to appreciate the significance of societal responses to children and young people, and the circumstances that may endanger their welfare. The course will help you to critically evaluate the effectiveness of legislation, policies and procedures, and all measures designed to regulate child protection practice in a multi-agency environment, whether locally, nationally or internationally. As a graduate of this course, you could enjoy increased employment opportunities in your profession. You'll have the opportunity to develop skills in decision making, risk assessment, case management and supervision. You will also be given the tools to develop critical thinking skills, knowledge and application of research methods, and efficient approaches to time management, prioritisation and workload planning. What's involved Based over three years part-time, the course is conducted as a blended learning process, involving a combination of lectures, tutorials, practice experience, online study, workshops and independent study. This award also has optional exit points at Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma levels. Below you'll find an indication of the subjects you will most likely study on this course. Requirements at a glance Entry to the course To apply, you must be a practising professional with a BSc (Hons) or equivalent experience.
