ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is thelargest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body,with 154,000 members and 432,000 students in over 170countries worldwide. The qualification has a strong focus onprofessional values, ethics and governance. Membership requirescompletion of a professional ethics module, in addition to passing14 exams (nine of which are eligible for exemption) and three yearsrelevant practical experience.

Teaching and assessment

Our expert teaching team will teach you the syllabus and prepare you for the exams using questions and mock exams.

Teaching begins in September and runs every week, except for Christmas and Easter breaks. Day classes lead to exams in December and June. Evening classes lead to exams in June. A precise programme for each paper will be issued by lecturers in the first week of tuition.

As we guarantee student places, there is no maximum class size, but normally it is around 36.

Course modules

The ACCA is the largest and fastest growing international accounting body, with over 400,000 students and members in 170 countries. Exams are held at three stages – Knowledge, Skills and Professional. For part-time students in the UK, the subject schedule optimises choice while discouraging the combination of too many demanding subjects. Exemptions based upon previous qualifications or experience are available at the discretion of the ACCA.

The Department of Accounting and Finance, one of five departments which form Leicester Business School, is a major provider of accounting education in the UK. We have over 600 students studying undergraduate, postgraduate, research andprofessional courses each year.

Our staff have a wealth of industry, professional, practice and academic experience. Many are actively engaged in research and consultancy, and the department’s practical approach to the subject is reflected in its regular contribution to the Journal of Applied Accounting Research.
