Maths at Work

Maths at Work develops your numeracy skills, which can help you at home and work. It also gives you the chance to take a numeracy/maths qualification.

You learn the skills which improve your maths in a practical way, such as calculating percentages, taking measurements, managing your finances and more.

Learning is by working individually, in pairs and in groups using a variety of resources, including using IT to support your numeracy. You work at the level and pace you feel comfortable with and your teachers support you all the way.

Assessment is by taking a numeracy exam at the appropriate level.

On successful completion of the course you gain a numeracy qualification and a lot of useful, practical numeracy skills which you can apply immediately.

Before starting this course you need to take an initial assessment and have an interview so we can decide if the course is suitable for your needs. You need to make a firm commitment to attend the whole course.

Students at the appropriate level can progress to the next level of Maths at Work courses running in the following term, or you can look into vocational courses at the College.
