Theoretical analysis informs all areas of your practical work as
well as giving an insight into how media institutions perceive
audiences and construct products for particular markets.
This course is 100% coursework which means there are no exams. You
need to be well organised throughout the year. You also need to
enjoy working as part of a team and sharing your views.
You have full access to the media centre which consists of a
television studio, digital video and sound editing equipment, a
radio studio and computing facilities. All students follow a
functional skills programme. You work with specialist tutors on
live practical projects. You are offered the opportunity to work
for our in-house production company StudioX1. This helps you to
gain professional experience working with a variety of clients and
makes an impressive addition to your CV.
The full Extended Diploma in Creative Media is equivalent to 3 A-levels. Your grades will link to A-level grades.
Applicants for a Level 3 programme will normally have at least 4
GCSEs at grade C or above (including some subjects related to the
proposed area of study) and/or a completed Level 2 award, and the
willingness to study for an additional Level 2 qualification in
English and/or maths.

interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will
have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the
programme.
