About This Course:

The course helps you develop the skills you’ll need to work in the extended supply chain and business, as well as the main operational areas of supply chain management, procurement, logistics, storage and operations.

Course work includes projects and assignments as well as traditional extended response questions. You’ll be assessed continuously throughout the course.

  • Before we offer you a place, we’ll invite you to an interview where you should be able to show a real interest in Supply Chain Management
  • All entry subject to outcome of discussion at interview

HND

  • Two Higher Grade passes at Grade C or above including English (Modern Studies, Economics, History or Business)
  • Before we offer you a place, we’ll invite you to an interview where you should be able to show a real interest in Marketing
  • Adult learners with some relevant experience in, or who hope to move into the marketing area may be accepted subject to interview
  • All entry subject to outcome of discussion at interview

If you have three Higher Grade passes, you may be able to take the Diploma of Higher Education in Business course.

More Information

What You Study:

The core units you’ll study include:

HNC

Supply Chain Fundamentals, Total Quality Management, Storage and Distribution, Leadership and Decision Making, Supply Chain Management: Graded Unit 1.

HND

Purchasing, Project Management, Business Culture and Strategy, Human Resource Management, Performance Management, Supply Chain Management: Graded Unit 2.

After The Course:

Career

Supply chain, procurement or export departments of industrial or commercial companies

Continuing study

HNC: Apply for second year of HND Supply Chain Management.

HND: Apply for second or third year entry to Supply Chain Management degree at the Glasgow Caledonian, and Business at University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University.

After completion of the HNC or HND you can apply for Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) courses offered by the College. The CIM contact at the College is Peter Provan -

How Long:
