Diploma of Higher Education in Social Sciences

Overview

The Diploma of Higher Education in Social Sciences is offered by the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in association with City of Glasgow College.

It allows you to apply for direct entry to the third year of the BA Social Sciences Degree at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. If you leave after one year – or don’t meet the requirements for the Diploma after two years – you may be awarded a Certificate of Higher Education in Social Sciences.

• Three or more Higher Grade passes at Grade C or above, including English, or subjects such as Sociology, Modern Studies, History or Economics. Other Highers may be considered relevant.
• Two other passes at Standard Grade Band 2 or equivalent, or Intermediate 2 passes.
• You will be invited to attend an interview prior to being offered a place on the course. This may include a short written exercise/activity.

Continuing study

Apply for third year of the BA in Social Sciences in the Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
