About This Course:Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) offers this course, in association with the College. The design of buildings has become increasingly complex. Interior Design is an important specialist area within this sector. As an Interior Designer you will need a range of technical expertise and professional knowledge, as well as creativity and a ‘good eye’. This course underpins the skills and knowledge required by Industry.
The course combines design with technology and management, and you’ll develop your creative thinking and problem-solving skills in all these areas. We teach the course in design studios, IT labs and in lecture and seminar rooms.

What You Need:• HND 3D Design: Interior Design – minimum of a ‘B’ in Graded Units.

What You Study:Year 3 comprises six modules including three Interior Design Projects, two Integrative Study modules (construction details, specification of materials, project management, Building Regulations) and CAD for Interior Design.
Year 4 is also made up of six modules. There are three Interior Design Projects including a self-selected project. The other three are Integrative Studies in building services (lighting, acoustics etc.), Design Analysis; a research module where a design document is produced, and Advanced CAD.
After The Course:Our graduates find employment in interior design consultancies, architectural practices, retail, leisure and hotel sectors, theatre and television, building construction and shop-fitting industries, heritage, restoration and other specialist areas of design such as lighting.
