college workshop.
Theory knowledge will be tested by a series of on-line
multiple-choice question papers and written assignments
which are externally set by the awarding body.
Progression would be onto a Level 3 programme.
Career Progression:The IMI Level 2 Award will help learners progress onto a modern apprentiship programme.
Full Description:This is a level 2 qualification which covers technical needs for basic body repair techniques and procedures. It provides essential knowledge and skills for the body repairer working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist body repair shops.
The learning programme involves learners studying both the
theory and practical aspects, including:
· Removing and fitting permanent and non-permanent fixed body
panels and components
· Carrying out minor repairs to body panels
· Resistance spot welding
Learners also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.
This qualification also forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) of the IMI SSC Accident Repair Apprenticeship framework (for Body). When an apprentice has achieved a Level 2 Apprenticeship, they can then choose to broaden their education and training in other ways from this firm base.
The assessment of this VRQ is made up of 3 components:
a. IMI Awards set Practical Tasks
b. IMI Awards set Online Testing
c. IMI Written assignments
