Summary:
This qualification enables you to develop the basic skills needed in fashion design, pattern cutting, hand and machine stitching. It will provide you with the knowledge of the craft process, taking a professional approach and using methods of the industry. It will guide you through fashion design from conception to realisation of the final outcome and also provide you with a basis for progression into further study in fashion, for example NCFE level 2.

Assessment:The NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Craft using Fashion is internally assessed.
Each candidate is required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement the Units detailed below.
Academic Progression:Progression can be to further study such as NCFE level 2 & 3. H.E. employment in the industry or your own designer maker business.
Full Description:The objectives of the course are to help you to:
- Develop a portfolio of work in fashion
- Use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely
- Develop an understanding of Health and Safety considerations surrounding fashion
The qualification consists of 3 units:
Unit 01: Explore available resources to develop basic fashion
skills
Unit 02: Explore and develop fashion ideas creatively
Unit 03: Create, present and review final fashion item(s)
