Media Studies develops practical production and analytical skills. Students will recognise how audiences are targeted by media producers. Genre, audience, representation, media forms and language will be the main areas of study. Students will develop independent, critical responses to texts and will have an opportunity to make their own media products. Media Studies students should enjoy watching films and TV and take an interest in advertising and current events. They should be prepared to analyse all types of text, past and present. A degree of creativity is important too.
Course Code: S0728 Course Length: One year Entry Requirements:Normally at least four GCSE passes at grade D. You do not need any previous knowledge of the subject.
Assessment:You will be assessed through written exmas and coursework.
