Course Length: 1.25 academic years (starting in April) Entry Requirements:

Successful completion of Health and Social Care BTEC Subsidiary Diploma Level 3

Core Skills:

The content includes health, human growth and development and behavioural studies, with an emphasis on developing your personal skills and understanding as well as your knowledge of, for example, cell biology and mammalian physiology. There is a high level of practical work including a variety of work placements. The course also has a bridging studies element to reinforce the maths and science relevant to your chosen profession.

Assessment:

Assessment is by internally set assignments and course work.

Academic Progression:

Completion of this course satisfies university entry requirements if you want to on to further study at degree level.

Career Progression:

The academic standard satisfies the entry requirements of nursing and paramedical professions including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
