Course Code: G4371 Course Length: Two years Entry Requirements:

You will need an NVQ level 3 qualification in a related subject or proven experience in practice. We expect you above all to have the commitment and enthusiasm to be successful and all shortlisted applicants are offered an interview. We welcome applications from mature (21+) students who have experience in practice or other suitable qualifications. You will need to be employed or have a voluntary placement for two days a week minimum, or the equivalent of this.

Core Skills:

Modules will cover the areas of Human Growth and Development, Aspects of Science, Health Care Policy, Ethics, Legal Aspects, Work-Based Learning, Study Skills and Research.

Assessment:

Your work will be assessed via a range of assessment methods, e.g. essays, case studies, portfolio, reports.

Academic Progression:

FdA graduates may also progress with full articulation to the BA (Hons) Professional Studies at UEA developed in partnership with CCN.

Career Progression:

This increasingly well-recognised qualification will help you to find employment in the health and care sectors or, if you are in work, will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to your organisation and thus the possibility of progression into and through supervisory and management roles, as well as the development of current managerial roles. Progression to nurse training with credits, senior health care assistant roles and programmes leading to other allied health professions are all possible.
