Summary:

To improve your English by developing reading, writing, speaking and listening, the ESOL course at City College is certificated by City & Guilds to help you get a national qualification.

Course Code: B0165 Minimum Age: 16 Maximum Age: 19 Start Date: 25/09/2012 End Date: 12/07/2013 Course Length: One year (2.5 hours per week) Course Schedule: One day a week Entry Requirements:

Should have achieved at least E1 ESOL. You will need to attend an interview and take an Initial Assessment.

Needs to be attending a college F/T course.

Core Skills:

Basic literacy skills.

Assessment:

City & Guilds Certificate in ESOL (English)

Academic Progression:

The course is entry level 2 & 3 in ESOL with progression to Level 1 and Level 2 courses.

Career Progression:

ESOL helps you to decide your future study or job.

Full Description:

You will study English using many different topics including health, education, law, transport, shopping, getting a job, using the library etc. You will also study Citizenship and about living in the UK.

The course improves your study skills, and enables development of skills in speaking, listening, reading and writting as well as extending vocabulary and grammar.

At the end of the course you can do the City & Guilds examination which tests all the four skills and you will be able to move on to the next level if you are successful.
