Assessment:

Assessment is carried out via an NVQ system where evidence is obtained from the student over the academic year, upon a completion of three satisfactory tasks the student will pass the practical element of the course.

There are similar requirements for the theory aspect of the course and these are submitted and marked online.

Academic Progression:

Students who complete the level 1 course are eligible to apply for the level 2 industry recognised qualification from City & Guilds in Electrical Installations; the dependency of attendance will depend on the employment status of the student within an industry relevant job.

Career Progression:

Students who complete the level 1 course are eligible to apply for the level 2 industry recognised qualification from City & Guilds in Electrical Installations; the dependency of attendance will depend on the employment status of the student within an industry relevant job.

Costs:

16-18 year old's will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or examination fees. However they are required to pay for other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.

Students aged over 19 on the 31st August in the year in which they start their studies, on full-time courses have to pay tuition fees unless they qualify for exemptions. In addition they are expected to pay awarding body registration and examination fees, other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits and the College Administration Fee (currently £60).
