Part TimeThis course aims to introduce basic skills in the art of
sugarcraft and cake decorating.
Students will learn;
Key aspects of food hygiene
To marzipan and ice a cake with side design.
Make wired flowers with buds and leaves.
Make a decorative posy using flowers and ribbons.
Make and decorate a pastillage card.
Create an arrangement using flowers made.
Recognise paste and food colourings for use in sugarpaste
modelling work.
Understand how to produce models using different techniques.

How you will gain the qualification
This course has been validated for Agored Cymru accreditation by NWACC (North Wales Access and Credit Consortium). Students wishing to have their work assessed will have the opportunity to gain 9 credits at level 1.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, just enthusiasm.

On completion of this course you may wish to enrol on the Level 2 Intermediate Sugarcraft, or onto other full or part time courses available at Coleg Cambria in the Department of Catering and Hospitality.
