Full TimeThis course will develop your skills as an ICT practitioner in hardware and software installation; software development; graphic design; website design, technical support; networks and communications and games development; and working with end-users. How you will gain the qualification
You will be assessed with a combination of practical hands-on tasks and assignment writing. You will collect evidence of your work for the practical hands-on tasks which will be included in your assignments. These are designed to be word processed and submitted electronically to showcase your achievements. They will be assessed by your tutor and moderated by Edexcel.
What qualifications you need
At least 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C including Maths and English or successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit or Distinction level. Should you have a relevant Level 2 qualification please note that you must also have GCSEs in both Maths and English at grades A* - C (we would consider one of these at a grade D) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification
Where to next
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT qualifies for UCAS points, it gives students a wide choice of progression options into further study, training or relevant employment. Students who successfully complete the qualification will be well equipped to move onto degrees and other university courses in related subjects such as ICT, Computer Networking, Computer Game Design, e-Business and Information Management.
