Full Time

The course has both theory and practical parts which will prepare you for work in Joinery.




You will learn:


- Safe and efficient work


- Building methods


- How to use a circular saw


- Set-out, mark-out and produce various joinery items such as doors, windows, stairs etc.




Essential skills will also be provided to support and develop numeracy and literacy skills.



How you will gain the qualification

Assessment is by a range of methods which may include assignments, projects, case studies, practical exercises, question and answer papers and portfolio building.

What qualifications you need

Applicants are required to have achieved a Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent qualification or experience. You will be required to attend an interview with the Course Tutor.




Candidates will need to provide suitable clothing and safety footwear for practical workshop sesions. Stationery equipment and materials will also be required.


Where to next

You can progress to Level 3 Bench Joinery, Level 2 Construction & Built Environment or an Apprenticeship.
