Description
Full TimeThis course is made up of a variety of Art & Design units
and you will develop skills through a range of activities to enable
you to achieve. You will experience working in both 2D and 3D, such
as drawing from observation, painting, textiles, CAD, photography,
print making and ceramics. There will be opportunities to work with
practising artists, designers and craftspeople. You will
participate in cultural and contextual activities and educational
visits to support your studies.
Your learning programme will be made up of a number of qualifications including Essential and Wider Skills.

How you will gain the qualification
Each unit is graded pass, merit or distinction and you will be required to achieve a minimum of a pass grade in each unit to qualify for an overall qualification grade.
What qualifications you need
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A* - D including an art related
subject, or the successful completion of a Level 1 qualification in
Art & Design and recommendation.
Entry in all cases is by interview and a portfolio of work, and you will have the opportunity to attend a taster session prior to the start of the course.
Where to next
Level 2 Diplomas are valued by employers and the course prepares you for employment in the Creative Industries. If you want to continue and progress with your studies you can take a Level 3 qualification in a similar subject such as Art & Design, Creative Media.
