LEVEL 1 DIPLOMA PAINTING & DECORATING

This course has both theory and practical parts which will prepare you for work in Painting and Decorating. You will learn:

-Carry out safe working practices

-Information, Quantities and Communicating with others

-Building methods and Construction Technology

-Prepararation of Surfaces

-Apply Paint Systems by Brush and Roller

-Apply Foundation and Plain Papers

-Produce Specialist Decorative Finishes

Essential skills will also be provided to support and develop numeracy and literacy skills.

Also incudes an Introduction and Employment and an Introduction to BIM.

How you will gain the qualification

Assessment is by a range of methods which may include assignments, projects, case studies, practical exercises, question papers and portfolio building.

What qualifications you need

Applicants are required to have 4 GCSEs at grade E or above or successfully completed Skills for Construction Course or equivalent qualification or experience. You will be required to attend an interview with the Course Tutor.

Where to next

Learners can progress to Level 2 Painting & Decorating, Level 2 Construction & Built Environment or an Apprenticeship.
