The HNCs are benchmark qualifications by Glyndwr University for
Engineering Technicians, recognised by industry and essential for
certain positions in HM Forces. Our HNC courses introduce you to
the fundamentals of electrical engineering science, the business
and management skills you'll need to succeed and provide you with
an opportunity to hone your maths skills.

How you will gain the qualification
During your course you will undertake assignments, laboratory experiments, case studies, CAD and informal examinations. Some of this work will form the basis of your assessment. There are no formal examinations on this HNC course.
What qualifications you need
For the HNC the academic requirements are an Edexcel BTEC
National Diploma or Certificate or alternatively one A Level in
Mathematics or a relevant science subject plus one other. Suitable
experience may be accepted instead of formal qualifications subject
to interview.
The entry requirements given alongside the course descriptions
are given as general guidance to the level of offers which are
made.

There is a recognised shortage of qualified Mechanical Engineers in the UK. A qualification in this field will make you instantly attractive to employers as a result. You will have the skills to contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems and processes. Employment opportunities exist in the manufacturing field (Technician or Engineer level) or in the armed forces.
