The course comprises of Mandatory Modules in the specialist subjects together with Core Skills Studies. Mandatory Modules: Anatomy and Physiology, Physiology, Sociology, Work Experience, Core Skills: Communication / Study Skills Numeracy Information Technology In addition to formal lectures, group work, visits and practical work, students will work independently on assignment and project work supported by tutorial guidance. The Work Experience module involves work placements.

How you will gain the qualification
Internal: the programme is monitored by continuous assessment, the majority of which is assignment work with some experience of timed tests or examination situations. Credits are achieved on satisfactory completion of each unit of study. Level 3 credits are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. Internal verification of students assignment work is carried out during the year. External: an external Moderator visits to check that standards are being met. On successful completion of the full programme of study students are awarded the Agored Cymru 'QAA - recognised' Access to H.E. Diploma and transcript.
What qualifications you need
No formal qualifications are presumed students are invited for interview with selection based on relevant experience, previous studies, commitment and enthusiasm.

Successful completion of the course enables students to have access to Higher Education courses at Degree or Diploma level in a range of disciplines including the following:- Health Studies, Health and Community Studies, Nursing, Paramedics, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Sports Science.
