The AS (Advanced Subsidiary)can be taken as a discrete one year
qualification or as the first half a full two year A Level. The
courses are challenging, rewarding and enjoyable and offer a
valuable experience for learners with a keen interest and aptitude
in this subject area.

How you will gain the qualification
You will gain this qualification through coursework and an externally set assignment at both AS & A2. Final grades are determined by marks awarded to your coursework and the externally set assignments.
What qualifications you need
A minimum of 6 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English Language and Music or Grade 5 Theory and that you are able to read music notation and have a pass at Grade 4 practical in at least one instrument. Entry to A2 is conditional on achieving A*- E at AS level.
