Description

In order to qualify for entrance to the ACS assessments, candidates not already in possession of an ACS certificate or Gas Safe registration, need to complete a relevant NVQ qualification in Gas or complete the Gas Utilisation Course.

Who is the course for?

Category three applicants are people who want to enter into the gas industry but do not hold any relevant qualifications relating to gas. It is also for those who want to take a career change. For this you are required to carry out ‘on & off the job’ training.

What will I study?

The course consists of 4 weeks full-time ‘off the job’ study at Blackburn College and also collection of on the job evidence required by the ACS scheme.

  • Ventilation
  • Tightness Testing
  • Flues & Flue Testing
  • Installation of Pipework
  • Combustion

The course will be delivered through both practical and theory assessments.

What will I get at the end of the course?

Category 3 Gas Engineer certification and the opportunity to undertake assessment within the ACS Gas registration scheme.
