CIPS assists individuals, organisations and the profession as a whole.
This Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply is for those who have already completed the Level 4 Foundation Diploma and now wish to progress on to further study or learn in more depth about the issues and theories surrounding Purchasing and Supply.
This level provides senior buyers and contract and supply chain managers with the expertise to improve organisational procurement and to fulfil organisational objectives. It gives you the knowledge base to reduce cost, improve quality, manage the supply chain and deal with legal issues.
What will I study?This level has five units (stated below). This course aims to build on level 4 with a view to progression into a managerial or specialist role. You’ll be provided with practical and theoretical understanding of the issues affecting business and the Purchasing and Supply chain function in both public and private sector industries. There will be two intakes for Level 5 – September and January. Specific modules are as follows:

Once you have been awarded a place, you will, in due course, need to complete the CIPS Registration Membership document and this can be found at: http://www.cips.org/membership/joinonline. This needs to be submitted directly to CIPS with the registration fees which are also detailed (You can also register online at this link).

The course will be delivered in the University Centre on the main campus in Blackburn.
Course Entry CriteriaYou will already have completed the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply. You also need to obtain membership with CIPS.
The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:
• More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
• 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
• 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
• 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
• Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost
All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.
What will I get at the end of the course?You will receive a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply from CIPS.
What can I do next?You can progress onto CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or may move on to a specialist role in a Purchasing and Supply related function.
How much does it cost?The course fee is £1,975 per year (excluding exam fees and registration fees, which are paid directly to CIPS) (prices subject to change)
